PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a container which can self support in its main body when storing contents therein, while making the best use of the advantage of the baglike container. SOLUTION: A self-supporting container comprises a main body 2 formed of a flexible sheet cylindrically, having a bottom 3 on the lower side and an opening 4 on the upper side, and foldable flat when not in use, and a lid 5 formed of a flexible sheet which is provided over the opening 4 of the main body 2 so that it can be opened/closed. The container further comprises an air beam 17 which comprises a hollow ring 18 provided along the open edge 6 of the main body 2 and hollow supports 19 integrated with the hollow ring 18 and extending almost vertically along the sidewall of the main body 2 and which self-supports the main body 2 by filling the hollow ring 18 and the hollow supports 19 with air.
