PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling type polymer granulating device, the cutter of which is stopped at its position optimum for every machine stand so as to eliminate the deviation of a strand developed due to the change of the melt viscosity of a polymer in order to obtain chips having uniform shapes. SOLUTION: In the polymer granulating device, a melted polymer is extruded from a nozzle 1 in the form of a strand 2 on a guide plate 3, which is provided on a traveling type truck 12 and on which cooling water flows down, and, after being cooled and set, cut with a cutter. The device selects a switch 19 for stopping the corresponding truck among a plurality of switches 19 for stopping trucks provided on the truck 12 in response to the melt viscosity of an extruded polymer through the command of a traveling controlling device 21 so as to bring the cutter to its optimum position for an automatic stopping of the truck 12 in order to automatically adjust the extruding position of the polymer.
