PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect the temperature in a rice cooking pot and to cook delicious rice with stable cooking finish by providing a temperature sensor for detecting the vapor temperature in a rice cooking pot, detecting the vapor temperature, recognizing boiling in the pot and, then, setting a heating time till the end of rice cooking. SOLUTION: The vapor temperature is detected by the vapor temperature sensor 8, a control part recognizes boiling in the rice cooking pot 2, a heating schedule time and pot bottom target temperature after that are set and heating is continued till one of the two conditions is satisfied, that is, the heating schedule time elapses or the target temperature of a pot bottom is detected. Thus, the sensor 8 is arranged so that boiling in the pot 2 can be detected. Then optimum cooking finish is enabled by executing heating till the temperature becomes the heating one or the pot bottom one by which the best rice cooking finish is obtained by experiences.
