PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fishing rod by winding specific reinforcing prepregs on the joint to prevent the joint from plastic bending or rigidity drop, thereby improve the joint condition. SOLUTION: This fishing rod provided with a joint between a larger-diameter rod pipe 11 and a smaller-diameter rod pipe 12 is obtained by winding reinforcing prepregs 5, 15 with the reinforcing fibers oriented slantly on the joint; wherein it is preferable that the reinforcing fibers of the reinforcing prepregs 5, 15 are arranged in parallel crosswise, and the respective joints of the larger- diameter rod pipe 11 and the smaller-diameter rod pipe 12 are wound with the reinforcing prepregs with the reinforcing fibers arranged in parallel slantly and the respective reinforcing fibers of both the prepregs crossed mutually.
