PURPOSE: A video on demand system of district distribution type and a method for providing video on demand service using the same are provided to reduce the load on the server. CONSTITUTION: A video on demand system of district distribution type and a method for providing video on demand service using the same includes a main video on demand server, a plurality of district video on demand servers, and a service server(30). The main video on demand server is connected with the plurality of district video on demand servers, searches for a district video on demand server which is in a distance less than a predetermined distance, and sends an order to stream the video signal on demand to that district video on demand server when there is a district video on demand server in a predetermined distance and sends the video signal on demand to each district video on demand server. The plurality of district video on demand servers receives the program from the main video on demand server and streams the program to clients. The service server(30) is connected with the each district video on demand server and the client. |
