PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reductively dehalogenate liquid or solid halogenated hydrocarbons by transporting a halogenated hydrocarbon or liquid and solid both containing the same hydrocarbon into a finely powdered solid microdispersion composition to be heated in the presence of a finely dispersed reducing metal and a hydrogen donor. SOLUTION: This method is to transport a liquid or solid halogenated hydrocarbon, or liquid or solid contaminated with the same hydrocarbon into a finely powdered solid microdispersion composition and to heat the composition at 80-400 deg.C in the presence of both a reducing metal (e.g. Li, K, Ca, Na, Mg, Al, Zn, Fe, an alloy containing at least two of them, or the like) and a hydrogen donor so as to perform reaction for reductively dehalogenating the above hydrocarbon.
