PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the feed accuracy of recording paper by simple constitution. SOLUTION: A worm wheel 31 is fixed to the attaching shaft 10a of a platen roller 10 and a worm 32 is meshed with the worm wheel 31 to be allowed to make one revolution to rotate the worm wheel 31 by one pitch. A pulse motor 33 is rotated on the basis of the reference number of feed pulses and the rotational change thereof is detected by an encoder 62 and the corrected number of feed pulses is calculated on the basis of the count value. This corrected number of feed pulses is stored in a memory 51 at every tooth. At a time of printing, the actual number of feed pulses is calculated on the basis of the corrected number of feed pulses and the pulse motor 33 is driven based on this actual number of feed pulses to quantitatively feed recording paper 13. Since the corrected number of feed pulses is calculated at every tooth, even if the shape or pitch of each tooth of the worm wheel 31 is not constant because of a production error, highly accurate feed becomes possible.
