PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated by a blower as compared with the case of a prime mover direct-coupled drive by disposing a primer mover and a blower on upper and lower sides, and speed-reducing and driving in rotation the blower through a pulley by a belt. SOLUTION: A portable blowing cleaner 10 carried on a person's back to be used for fallen leaves and dust collecting work is so constructed that a forced air-cooled internal combustion engine 20 is disposed on the upper part of a back carrying frame 12, a centrifugal blower 30 is arranged on the lower part, and a fuel tank 40 is disposed in an intermediate part. An output shaft 25 of an internal combustion engine 20 is provided with a small-diameter driving pulley 66, a fan shaft 33 of the blower 30 is provided with a large-diameter driven pulley 67, and the blower 30 is speed-reduced and driven in rotation through a flat belt. The blower 30 is adapted to suck outside air by providing air inlets in both front and rear surfaces of a fan case 31. Accordingly, the blower 30 is not an internal combustion engine 20 direct-coupled drive, but it is speed-reduced and driven in rotation through pulleys 66, 67 to reduce generated noise. Further, outside air is sucked from the front and rear air inlet parts, and the blower 30 can be reduced in size.
