PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support device for a roll matter that can easily attach and detach the roll matter by one hand. SOLUTION: This support device is provided with a pair of support members 6 arranged with an interval between which a roll matter is inserted from upside along the radial direction, a pair of pivoting shafts 7 respectively provided for these support members 6, a pair of oscillating members 8 that are vertically arranged on the facing surface side of each support member 6 and are oscillatably mounted to each pivoting shaft 7 in a substantially intermediate part in the length direction, a locking pin 9 projected to the other oscillating member near the top of each oscillating member, and an energizing member 10 for energizing each oscillating member in the mutually approaching direction of their lower ends.
