PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge machining chips smoothly to the outside by providing a process for sorting foreign matters larger than the opening diameter of a liquid channel generated in a liquid passage, a liquid channel and a common liquid chamber according to the dimensional difference from the opening diameter thereby cleaning the inside of a recording head. SOLUTION: An ink ejecting part 44 arranged, on the side facing a sheet Pa, with a plurality of ink ejection openings has a connection opening 44a being connected with an ink passage 54 through a connector cap 56 and a connection opening 44b being connected with a first ink passage 48. A joint holder 50 has ports 50a, 50b being connected with passages 48, 54, and the cap 56 makes ink passages 46, 54 function as one passage in an interconnecting passage 56R and the inside diameter of the passages 46, 48 are made sufficiently larger, at the ejecting part 44, than the opening diameter of a channel interconnected with an ejection opening so that foreign matters in a common liquid chamber, and the like, can be discharged. When the cap 56 is removed and cleaning liquid is supplied from the passage 48 to the ejecting part 44, large foreign matters can be discharged through the passage 46 while being separated from small foreign matters.
