PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the clogging of the openings of a screen hardly develop by putting one or several pieces of spherical solid matter in the screen, making the solid matter leap by a flow of fluid flowing into the screen to hit it against the screen, and, by that impact, eliminating foreign matter stuck on the screen from the screen. SOLUTION: In a screen 12 built into a strainer 11, several balls 13 as solid matter are enclosed. The ball 13 has specific gravity smaller than that of sewage water, and consists of a hard resin having hardness smaller than that of the screen 12 made of stainless steel, and has countless grooves formed on the surface thereof. The sewage water flows in from the left side of this page and flows out to the right side through inside the screen 12. Since the balls 13 have smaller specific gravity than the sewage water, they receive buoyancy upward in the screen 12 and are carried away in the right side direction by the flow of the sewage water. As a result, the balls 13 leap in the screen 12 and hit the filter net to eliminate and remove sludge matter stuck on the filter net.
