PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device making use of support bodies capable of securing a base isolation function in time of an earthquake and keeping appearance superior. SOLUTION: This base isolation device 10 interposed between an upper structure body 2 and a lower structure body 3 has a support bodies 11a-11c supporting the upper structure body 2 such that the upper structure body 2 is horizontally movable relatively to the lower structure body 3. The support bodies 11a-11c are formed with a through hole 15 in an arbitral plane position. A floating resistant member 16 for increasing resistance force against floating force acting on the upper structure body 2 is disposed in the through hole 15, while the upper and lower ends of the floating resistant member 16 are respectively fixed to the upper and lower structure bodies 2, 3. An interval between the floating resistant member 16 and the through hole 15 is set to 1/6 or above of an allowable horizontal displacement quantity of the support bodies 11a-11c in the entire circumference.
