PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently drying a polycarbonate resin capable of being suitably used as a polycarbonate resin for optics in a state scarcely generating dusts. SOLUTION: This method for drying a polycarbonate resin comprises drying the polycarbonate resin by the use of a rotary multitublar drier which uses a V-type rubber seal in a seal portion for sealing a rotary shaft and in which an air seal channel is disposed at the tip of the seal portion for sealing. Further, a metal material comprising Mo: 11.5-18.0 wt.%, Cr: 13.5-23.5 wt.%, Fe: 1.0-8.0 wt.%, W: 1.5-5.5 wt.%; Ni: the remainder as metal components or a lining material comprising the metal material is used for portions to be brought into contact with a halogenated hydrocarbon used as a solvent and contained in the polycarbonate resin to be dried, or with the decomposition products of the halogenated hydrocarbon.
