PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose a toxic substance in exhaust gas by heating and efficiently make it nontoxic in a short time by providing an inner cylinder having a lid rotatably mounted on the opening at the tip and a removal part containing a carbonization heat source, and an outer cylinder arranged on the outside of the inner cylinder with a space. SOLUTION: A toxic substance removable part 10 containing a carbonization heat source 1 mainly composed of charcoal, coke, coal or the like is built in an inner cylinder 1a having a lid 5 rotatably mounted on an opening part 4b at the tip, and an outer cylinder, 2 is arranged on the outside of the removal part 10 of the inner cylinder 1a with a clearance 2a therefrom to constitute a toxic substance removing muffler 1. The inlet 2b of the outer cylinder 2 is extended to the outside. The removal part 10 has attachable and detachable mesh-like right cover 7 and left cover 8 on both longitudinal ends to prevent the outflow of the carbonization heat source 11 housed in the removal part 10a. A heating element 9 is mounted on the inside surface of the right cover 7, and the heating element 9 is heated and generates heat by bringing the carbonization heat source 11 into contact with it.
