PURPOSE: A mask assembly for a cathode ray tube is to prevent a rotation of a mask frame upon operating of the cathode ray tube and a high current aging, thereby preventing a landing error of electron beam and a lowering of a purity. CONSTITUTION: A mask assembly for a cathode ray tube comprises a panel which has a stud pin, a shadow mask(20) which has a plurality of beam passing holes(20a) to select a color, a mask frame(30) which is welded to a circumference of the shadow mask to fix the shadow mask, and a spring structure for suspending the mask frame at an inside of a panel. The spring structure is comprised of a pair of members which are respectively in conjunction with each other in a different state so that the mask frame is moved in a advancing direction of the electron beam when thermal-expanding.
