<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a golf ball having excellent uniformity by disposing an upper mold and lower mold which are internally formed with a spherical cavity and has a parting plane in the position corresponding to the equator thereof and providing the respective polar areas of these upper and lower molds with a plurality of columnar inner layer support pins advanceably and retreatably into and from the inside of the cavity. SOLUTION: A metal mold 1 consists of the upper mold 2 and the lower mold 3 and internally has the spherical cavity 4. The wall surface 5 of the cavity 4 is provided with a multiplicity of projections for dimple shaping and the mold has the parting plane P in the position corresponding to the equator of the cavity 4. The upper mold 2 and the lower mold 3 are mounted with the three to eight conical shape support pins 6 advanceably and retreatably into and from the inside of the cavity 4 in the direction orthogonal with the parting plane P. The support pins 6 are formed with the projections similar to the projections for dimple shaping at their front ends. The position of the parting plane P is provided with runners 7 for supplying a resin so as to enclose the cavity 4 and a plurality of gates 8 continuous therewith at prescribed intervals.</p> |
