PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain exact control of the reduction rate of polyester fiber, as the embritllement of cellulosic fiber is suppressed in cellulosic fiber-blended polyester fiber woven or knitted fabric by controlling the reduction of the polyester fiber with an alkaline solution that is kept its alkali concentration constant, as the concentration of the terephthalate salt is used as an index. SOLUTION: The valve 16 is opened to charge an alkaline aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide with <=15 g/l, preferably 5-10 g/l concentration, into the reaction vessel 10. Simultaneously, the standard value of the initial alkaline concentration, the concentration of the terephthalate salt X and the concentration of the terephthalate salt concentration Z at the target reduction rate are calculated and memorized to the CPU 22. The knitted or woven fabric of polyester fibers blended with cellulosic fibers as rayon is charged in a reaction vessel to start the alkali-reduction and the alkali concentration in the vessel is continuously measured and the values are input to the CPU 22. The alkali solution is automatically fed via valve 16 in order to maintain the above standard value and, when the concentration of terephthalic acid X reaches the same concentration of Z, the CPU outputs the signal of the reaction stopping to complete the treatment. |
