PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat the wall surface of a building having unevenness generated by the bonding of a tile or siding material while imparting high-degree design effect thereto. SOLUTION: The coating roller 30 is provided with a cylindrical roller portion 31 having uneven patterns 32, 33 formed on the peripheral surface thereof and a paint supply portion 34 having a peripheral surface portion comprising a material capable of being impregnated with paint and bonding paint to the projected parts 32 of the uneven patterns 31, 32 of the cylindrical roller portion 31 by the contact of the peripheral surface portion with the peripheral surface of the cylindrical roller portion 31 to supply the same thereto. The coating roller 30 is rotated while being pressed to the protruded surface parts of the wall surface of a building to which an undercoating film is formed to form the patterns of the projected parts 32 of the uneven patterns on the protruded surface parts.
