PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the metering and filling of a liquid with high accuracy by a device of low cost by disposing an intermediate tank between a liquid storage tank and a pump and controlling the liquid level of the intermediate tank within the given range in the case of metering and filling the liquid stored in the liquid storage tank by using the pump. SOLUTION: The required amount of a liquid in a storage tank 20 storing a large amount of the liquid is fed into an intermediate tank 24 by a liquid feed pump 22, and the liquid stored in the constant amount in the intermediate tank 24 is passed through a piping 26 and fed into a pump (a filling machine) 27 and filled from a filling nozzle 28 into a container 29. At that time, signals from a liquid level detecting sensor 25 for sensing the liquid level in the intermediate tank 24 are transmitted to the liquid feed pump 22 and a solenoid valve 23, and the liquid fed from the storage tank 20 is controlled in compliance with the liquid level in the intermediate tank 24 and the liquid level in the intermediate tank 24 is kept within the given range. The intermediate tank 24 is so set as to form the liquid level below the position of the pump 27 so that the effect of liquid pressure is avoided to improve the filling accuracy.
