PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance imagewise developing efficiency by regulating the heights of respective bands dividing a page to optimum values by simple processing. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a drawing command analyzing part 8 for storing the drawing position and drawing area of a display list in the list table of a memory 4 when the display list is successively formed and a distribution part 10 for temporarily determining band heights at every band successively on reference to the list table 7 after the display list corresponding to one page is formed to calculate the sum total of the drawing areas of the display lists contained in the band heights and successively adjusting the band heights so as to set the same to a predetermined threshold value Y or less to determine the band heights and distributing the display list corresponding to one page to a plurality of bands on the basis of the determined band heights. |
