PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-end flat surface grinding method with a small damage of a grinding wheel surface of a grinding wheel capable of obtaining excellent parallelism and flatness on a finish surface of a work and a grinding efficiency regardless of a size of a machining allowance of the work. SOLUTION: An inclination angleθof both grinding wheels 1, 2 can be set to the optimum value considering parallelism, flatness or grinding efficiency required for a finish surface of the work W by combinedly carrying out subsequently and continuously an in-feed grinding (a) in which a grinding wheel 1 is cutting-fed and a through grinding (b) in which a through feeding is carried out by a feeding action of a carrier 12. A spark out action acts on both surfaces of the work W and the parallelism and the flatness are enhanced by making the inclination angleθof both grinding wheels 1, 2 small.
