PURPOSE: A dynamic focusing electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is to improve a static convergence at a dynamic focusing lens and also an entire static convergence, thereby improving a quality of image. CONSTITUTION: A dynamic focusing electron gun for a color cathode ray tube comprises a cathode(32R,32G,32B), a controlling electrode(33) and a screen electrode(34) which are respectively formed with an electron beam passing hole through which electron beam generated from the cathode is passed, a focusing electrode group which has one or more focusing electrode adjacent to the screen electrode, a dynamic focusing electrode which has a hole for the electron beam deflected from a center of the electron beam passing hole and to which a periodic voltage synchronized with a deflection signal is applied, and a final accelerating electrode which is disposed to be adjacent to the dynamic focusing electrode. In the electron gun, a center of the holes for the deflected electron beam is deflected against a center of the electron beam passing hole at one focusing electrode out of the focusing electrode group except focusing electrode directed to the final accelerating electrode.
