PURPOSE: A field emission tip is to optimize an atomic structure of an end portion of a carbon nanotube tip and discharge a large quantity of electron using a low applied voltage. CONSTITUTION: A field emission tip is formed with an end portion which is slantly cut off with respect to an axis thereof so that an atomic structure of the end portion, which is exposed to the outside, is in the form of a zigzag chain shape. In case of a multi-wall nanotube, an end portion of a tip thereof is formed to be slantly cut off with respect to an axis. In the cut-off process of the end portion, the end portion is cut off by an anisotropic method. That is, a chemical material for an etching process or a high-reactive gas is exerted on one side of the end portion. In case of other nanotube which is very fine to be bent down, a force is exerted on one side of the end portion.
