摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To demonstrate yield strength uniform over the whole as a brace member b enhancing the local pressure transmitting capacity in the vicinity of joining pin hole at a flat squeezed portion to a degree being equivalent to the yield strength possessed by a steel pipe member itself. SOLUTION: A joint portion 2 and a neck portion 3 of a steel pipe are made to be a double construction by a short steel pipe 5 by flat squeezing the end portion. Then, flat squeezed surfaces 6a, 6b are constituted to tightly adhered portions each other. Weld 7 is applied to the tip side of the flat squeezed portion 6 of the double construction, both the steel pipes 1, 5 are fixed so as to be made in one united body, and the transmission of a tensile force Ft or the like is realized. In this way, nevertheless the end portion of the steel pipe has a flat squeezed shape providing a fine view, a change is gradually made from the flat squeezed portion thereby permitting to increase the yield strength even up to the neck portion 3 continuing to a circular cross section of the main body portion, and the yield strength possessed by a steel pipe material itself constituting the brace member can be fully demonstrated.
