PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always rotate a bar-like screen element by a stream to prevent foreign matter from being entangled by arranging bar-like screen elements fitted with a rotary blade at designated spaces in parallel in a water channel, and rotatably supporting the upper and lower ends. SOLUTION: As a life screen for catching a person who falls in a channel 10 to be swept, bar-like screen elements 11 are arranged across the channel 10 at designated spaces in parallel. The bar-like screen elements 11 are respectively formed by fitting a spiral rotary blae 15 to a shaft part 12 made by a stainless pipe, and the shaft member 19 at the upper and lower end parts are rotarably supported by bearings 17 to always rotate the elements by a stream. A lower end part coming into contact with a channel bottom 22 is turned to the upstream side by a fitting table 20 and a fitting shaft 21 at the upper end part. Thus, a person who is swept is caught by the bar-like screeen elements 11, and the screen elements 11 are always rotated by a stream to prevent foreign matter flowing through the channel 10 from being entangled so that maintenance of the lifesaving screen can be facilitated.
