PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having an excellent skin moisture-retaining ability. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains moor hot spring water or a mixture of the moor hot spring water with Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz, the extract of Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz, or the powder of the extract of the Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz, as a main ingredient. Moor hot spring water sprung from Tokachi river hot spring in Otofuke town in Hokkaido is used as the moor hot spring water as such or after filtered and purified. The moor hot spring water is a transparent liquid having a pale yellowish brown color, contains fumic acid, fulvic acid, sodium ion, bicarbonate ion, metasilicic acid, metaboric acid, and the like, has slightly characteristic smell and taste at pH 7.5-8.6, has the spring nature of hypotonic weakly alkaline high hot spring, and belongs to simple hot spring on the classification of ingredients. The Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz therein used includes commercially available its leaves, the whole plant (above-ground portions) or their mixture with roots.
