METHOD FOR SEARCHING MULTI MEDIA DATA USING SHAPE INFORMATION

PURPOSE: A method for searching multi media data by using shape information is provided to express complicated shape information, and to rapidly search exact multi media data by using a multi-layer vector consistent for an image rotation, size changes, movements. CONSTITUTION: A method for searching multi media data by using shape information comprises the steps of: receiving shape information of a query image, and extracting shape information characteristics by using a descriptor which uses a vector of a multi-layer co-variance matrix; extracting each image data characteristic in a multi media database; establishing a multi media database to extracted multi media data; comparing characteristics of an output query image with image characteristics in the multi media database; and outputting a result which a similarity degree is compared.
