PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chemically crosslinked thick block foam excellent in impact resilience, flexibility and non-slip effects, by using, as a base material, an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer polymerized in the presence of a metallocene catalyst. SOLUTION: The crosslinked polyethylene resin foam is a foam having a slip characteristic of 0.5 kgf or more, prepared by using, as a base material, a resin having a density of 0.86-0.90 g/cm3, which is a copolymer of ethylene and a 3-18Cα-olefin. The copolymer preferably has one or more melting peaks obtained by the differential scanning calorimetry in the range of 30-90 deg.C and no melting peak in the range above 120 deg.C. Preparation of the crosslinked polyethylene resin foam comprises adding an expanding agent and a crosslinking agent to a polyethylene resin followed by kneading, and heating the resultant crosslinkable expandable composition under pressure for a given time followed by removal to form a foam. The crosslinking agent may include organic peroxides, while the expanding agent may embrace, for example, azo compounds, nitroso compounds, and the like. |
