PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new soluble neuropilin compound which is obtained by deleting a cell membrane perforans domain, an intracellular domain or the like from an animal neuropilin, inhibits the activity of substances controlling neuroaxonal elongation competitively and is useful in the development, or the like, of medical means for regenerating nerve circuits. SOLUTION: This soluble neuropilin is a new soluble neuropilin comprising the amino acid sequence obtained by deleting a cell membrane perforans domain and/or a intercellular domain on an animal neuropilin, e.g. mouse-derived neuropilin, or the like, containing the amino acid sequence represented by the formula, inhibits the activity of semaphorin and/or collapsin controlling neuroaxonal elongation competitively, elucidates the morbidity in human bioreaction related to the neuropilin molecule and is useful in the development, or the like, of medical means for regenerating and reconstructing nerve circuits suffered from injury. This soluble neuropilin can be obtained by preparing a recombinant DNA sequence obtained by eliminating the sequence coding for the above deleted domain from a cDNA coding for various neuropilins and applying a recombinant DNA technique using the DNA sequence. |
