PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photosensitizer which, in combination with a photic acid generator, can act as a sensitizer even in a near-infrared region and therefore enables photopolymerization with near-infrared rays by using a carbazole compound. SOLUTION: A carbazole compound of formula I or II is used. In the formulae, R is fluoro, chloro, bromo, hydroxyl, mercapto, nitro or a 1-19C organic group; k and k' are each 0-4; m and m' are each 0-2; and Y and Y' are each a 1-18C organic group. The photic acid generator used is desirably an onium salt, particularly, an aromatic sulfonium salt, more particularly, an aromatic sulfonium salt containing a non-nucleophilic anion such as PF6, AsF6 or SbF6. The light used in polymerization is desirably light at a wavelength of 300-450 nm. In a polymerizable composition comprising a monomer, a photic acid generator, and the photosensitizer, it usually contains 0.1-20 wt.% photic acid generator, and 0.001-20 wt.% carbazole compound as the photosensitizer. |
