<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To airtightly retain flanges by providing rectangular groove in the opposite sides of the two flanges in such a state as concentric to the flanges respectively, fitting taper rings to the rectangular grooves, fastening the two flanges by bolts, and press contacting the whole circumferences of the large- diameter side edges and the whole circumferences of the small-diameter side edges of the taper rings against the whole circumferences of the large-diameter side corner parts and the whole circumference of the small-diameter side corner parts of the opposed rectangular grooves respectively. SOLUTION: Rectangular grooves 3 are provided in the mating face side of a flange 1 and a flange 2 respectively, tape rings 4 are fitted to the rectangular grooves 3, and the flange 1 and the flange 2 are fastened together by bolts 5. Then, the taper rings 4 are elastically displaced, the whole circumference of the large-diameter side edges and the whole circumferences of the small- diameter side edges of the taper rings 4 are brought in press contact with the whole circumferences of the large-diameter side corner parts and the whole circumferences of the small-diameter side corner parts of the opposed rectangular grooves respectively.</p> |
