PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a plurality of bar codes to be continuously read by printing a bar code including distinguishing data which distinguishes itself from other bar codes incorporated in an identical printed matter, in bar code data, when sets of bar coded information are printed in the identical printed matter. SOLUTION: A printer with a loading scale set up per kind of article of trade weighs only a required quantity of an article to be purchased by a customer when he loads such an article in a weighing tray after inserting his carried shopping card 3 into a card inserting aperture, and prints the weighing results in the shopping card 3 as bar coded weighing data. Then the bar code of this card 3 is read by a wand scanner of a cash register to settle his payments. In this case, bar codes 43, 44 per kind of article are printed on the upper to the lower part of the card 3 and at the same time, a printing position mark 45 is printed alongside each bar code 43, 44. Further, a different kind of data is included as distinguishing data X in the bar code system.
