PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preparation which is useful for external use, has a high skin roughness-improving effect, a wrinkle-resistant effect, and the like, does not have a malodor and a tacky property, and inhibits the generation of foam on production. SOLUTION: This agent for external use contains a lamella structure consisting mainly of a fatty acid monoglyceride and vitamin A and its derivative. The production of the lamella structure from an oily mixture comprising the fatty acid monoglyceride and the vitamin A compound permits the inhibition of foam generated on the production of the skin preparation and the inhibition of a malodor caused by the vitamin A compound.
