PURPOSE: A head for a chip mounter is provided to simultaneously align suction nozzles provided on two spindles by operating the spindles with one driving motor. CONSTITUTION: A head for a chip mounter comprises a main frame(10), a housing(27) provided on a lower portion of the main frame, a side frame(30) provided on a side of the main frame, and a chip aligning section(20) fixed to a lower portion of the housing. The main frame has a first driving motor(11) on its upper portion, and a connecting shaft(12) is rotatably coupled to the main frame. A number of rotatable spindles are supported by the housing, and penetrate an upper portion of the chip aligning section. A suction nozzle for sucking chips is mounted on a lower portion of the spindle. The spindle is splined to a spindle tube inserted into the housing.
