PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject transparent component having excellent heat resistance, mechanical characteristics and low water absorption and low double refractive index, useful as lens, disk, optical transmission material, etc., by making the composition include a polymer comprising a specific oxygen- containing ring and a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a polymer having preferably 30,000-500,000 number-average molecular weight, containing >=30 wt.% repeating unit of formula I (R1 is H, a 1-25C hydrocarbon, alicyclic hydrocarbon or substituted hydrocarbon; n is a positive number) and (B) a (meth)acrylic acid- based polymer containing preferably >=50 wt.% of methyl methacrylate unit. The component A is obtained, for example, by polymerizing a monomer of formula II e.g. di(4-t-butylcyclohexyl) 2,2'-[oxybis(methylene)]bis-2-propenoate, etc.}.
