PURPOSE: A cap assembly of secondary battery is provided to enable users to easily connect lead terminal which is outside of the battery so as to simplify manufacturing procedures and to shorten manufacturing time by attaching lead terminal at the assembly stage. CONSTITUTION: A cap assembly of secondary battery includes the following steps. A cap plate(8) which is attached to the upper part of the cap(2) with electrode unit(18). An electrode plate(10) is attached to the center part of the cap plate(8) with an insulator(12) and a gasket(24). A portion of the external lead terminal(22) is inserted into the middle part between the electrode plate(10) and the gasket(24). The device enables users to prevent any danger of short because there is no need for welding external lead terminal into the battery.
