PURPOSE: An apparatus for supplying integrated service digital network(ISDN) packet services in an exchange is provided to supply the packet services to general subscribers by initializing a packet handler according to the packet services, and to supply the packet services to V5.2 subscribers. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for supplying integrated service digital network(ISDN) packet services in an exchange, comprises a V5.2 subscriber block(110), a packet handler(120), a packet subscriber controller(140), a packet handler interface(130), and a V5.2 protocol interface(150). The V5.2 subscriber block processes a physical interface with a V5.2 subscriber, and processes a link access procedure on the D-channel(LAPD) protocol. The packet handler is initialized according to the packet services, and processes an X.25 packet frame transmitted from the V5.2 subscriber block. The packet subscriber controller retrieves a database storing information on packet subscribers, and transmits the packet services to the packet handler to initialize the packet handler. The packet subscriber controller processes packet calls. The packet handler interface interfaces control signals related to the packet calls transceived between the packet handler and the packet subscriber controller. The V5.2 protocol interface sets up a signaling path of a packet data call, and transmits the packet data call to the packet subscriber controller, if the packet data call is signaled.
