PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enough small machine room than a conventional machine room in height and area, in another word, a machine unit box. SOLUTION: This elevator device is constituted with a hoist 1 and a control panel 2 that supplies power to this hoist 1 and controls this hoist 1, auxiliary equipment such as a governor is surrounded by a cover, places requiring maintenance and inspection of the hoist 1, the control panel 2, and the auxiliary equipment are placed so as to face the cover side, a portion of the cover which contains adjacent part to the places requiring maintenance and inspection can be removed or moved.
