PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dry film having an excellent ability to be embossed and excellent resistance to wet bending by including an aqueous emulsion polymer containing a specified amount, based on the weight of the polymer, of a copolymerized acetoacetate or acetamide monomer and having a specified glass transition temperature. SOLUTION: This composition is one containing an aqueous emulsion polymer prepared by polymerizing 0.4-10 wt.% acetoacetate or acetoacetamide monomer such as acetoacetoxyethyl (meth)acrylate with 0-10 wt.% ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer such as acrylic acid with 0-5 wt.% polyethylenically unsaturated monomer such as allyl acrylate and 0.1-6 wt.%, based on the total weight of monomers, surfactant in the presence of 0.01-3 wt.% polymerization initiator. The polymer has a glass transition temperature of -20 to 10 deg.C and a mean particle diameter of 30-500 nm. After the composition is adjusted to a solid content of 10-50 vol.% and a viscosity of 50-10,000 cP, it is used for coating leather.
