PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject multi-well, which retards evaporation of water from the outermost culturing wells to increase uniformity of the total quantity of a solution all over culturing wells by providing compartments in the outside of a rows of the culturing wells for holding an evaporation-adjusting liquid. SOLUTION: This multi-well plate, having a number of cell-culturing wells 2, e.g. 96-well plate, is provided with compartments 3 holding an evaporation- adjusting liquid (e.g. water) outside of rows of the cell-culturing wells 2. It is preferable that the evaporation-adjusting liquid is gelled. It is possible that the gel is incorporated with a solid antimicrobial component, to prevent contamination of the gel itself, and also inflow of miscellaneous bacteria from the outside of the plate into the culturing wells 2 on the plate via the plate surface, which tends to occurs when cells are cultured for extended periods of time.
