PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and rapidly open a lid of a packaging container comprised of a main body of the container made of a thin wall synthetic resin sheet and a lid, particularly in a packaging container having the lid inwardly fitted to the main body of the container. SOLUTION: This packaging container is comprised of a main body of the container made of thin-walled synthetic resin sheet and a lid 2. The packaging container is constituted to have an inner fitting structure in which when the lid is closed, an outer periphery of the lid 2 is fitted to an inner periphery of the main body of the container, and at the same time there is provided an engaging means to engage the lid member 2 with the container main body under a state in which it is inwardly fitted. A finger-inserting recess 3 in the case when a finger is to be put on an outer circumferential edge of the lid member 2 is provided near the edge part of the main body of the container.
