PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a higher harmonics of current with no constraint on the layout of a tap selector switch and an input setting operation body. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a fan motor having a plurality of input taps, an input set section 2 setting the input of the fan motor 1, a switching section 7 phase-controlling the fan motor 1 in response to the input of the fan motor 1 set by the input set section 2, and a tap switching section 6 switching the input taps 1ah, 1bh, 1am, 1bm of the fan motor 1. Tap switching and phase control can be conducted in response to the input.
