PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear-motor-drive-type elevator device which can effectively use height of a building and is safe during inspection. SOLUTION: The lower part of a car 1 on the facing surface side of a balance weight 2 is hoisted with a rope and a hoisting pulley 5 is placed in the upper part of a hoistway on the balance weight 2 side than a projection plane of the car 1 to shorten top clearance size of the car 1, and the hoisting pulley 5 is placed with an angle of less than 90 degrees in relation to the center line of a rail 10 to shorten hoistway size and apply offset load counter measures of the car 1. As a safety precaution against reduction of the top clearance size during inspection of an elevator device, an inspection opening is provided in the building side of the car 1 and the hoistway so as to inspect it without riding on the upper part of the car 1, and as a safety precaution in riding on the upper part of the car 1, a human body detecting sensor and an inspection stopper are provided. |
