PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-deck movable shelf device capable of shortening the construction period and reducing the cost without requiring floor tiling, enabling safe and easy storing work by constituting a walking surface in a passage formed by upper deck movable shelves without the possibility of being seen through from the lower deck. SOLUTION: Passage plates 32 are mounted on top of lower deck movable shelves 1B-1G. The passage plates 32 come close to each other between adjacent shelves when the lower deck movable shelves 1B-1G are closely gathered, constituting a flat walking surface on the same plane with a third guard rail R3. The lower deck movable shelves 1B-1G are moved to converge on a passage forming space based on a signal from a passage selecting means of an upper deck movable shelf device MR2, and the passage plates 32 on the converging movable shelves 1B-1G constitute the walking surface of the passage forming space.
