PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline polyester resin capable of forming binder fibers of which the crystallization proceeds rapidly in the bonding and molding step and which can give a fibrous structure free from a damage to the shape even when used in a high-temperature atmosphere, and provide the binder fibers. SOLUTION: The polyester resin comprises mainly at least 60 mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid component, at most 40 mol% aliphatic dicarboxylic acid component or aliphatic lactone, and an aliphatic diol component. It has a melting point of 150-200 deg.C and a peak present when crystallized by lowering the temperature, contains at least 0.2 wt.% inert particles with a mean diameter of 5μm or smaller, and has a constant-temperature crystallization half time of at most 6 min at a hold temperature of 90-130 deg.C.
