PURPOSE: A next generation monitor and a method for displaying an electronic program guide on the same are provided to receives broadcasting of many countries. CONSTITUTION: A next generation monitor includes a main screen(12), a selection button member, an electronic program guide member(40), an auxiliary screen(14) and a set top box(20). The selection button member includes a selection buttons for each country, each channel, and each group, program reservation part as well as recording part. The electronic program guide member(40) displays the output of the selection button member as well as the electronic program guide. The auxiliary screen(14) displays the program selected in the electronic program guide member. The set top box(20) converts the signal transmitted from a satellite broadcasting system and receives the converted signal. The auxiliary screen is switched to the main screen when a user request is present.
