A goniometer for measuring flexibility and extent of movement of members of a limb connected to a joint consists of first and second arms pivotally connected to each other and a feedback arrangement integrated into the arms. The feedback arrangement includes a generating unit for generating an operational beam, a reflecting unit for reflecting the operational beam, a receiving unit for receiving and analyzing the operational beam reflected from the reflecting unit, an adjustment unit for adjustment of an operational space. The operational space is defined by juxtaposition of the reflecting unit and adjustment unit, whereas an area and angular positioning of the operational space is indicative of the allowable range of movement of members of a limb and the arm elements. An alarm is provided for alarming a user when movement of the arms is not within the allowable range. The alarm is activated when the receiving unit is prevented from receiving the operational beam reflected from the reflecting unit. |
