PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate the chip exhausted from a machine tool such as a grinder satisfactorily from the cutting oil. SOLUTION: A chip separating device from cutting oil is equipped with a rotary element 1 whose axis AX is set including where a plurality of magnets 2 and 3 are arranged in the circumferential direction aslant to the axis AX. A cylinder 4 is installed which is installed concentrically with the rotary element 1, covers the rotary element 1, and allows the chip including cutting oil 20 to move upward as creeping on the outside surface. A stopper plate 14 extending in the axial direction is furnished in such a way as confronting the outside surface of the cylinder 4, and checks the chip from moving in the circumferential direction of the cylinder 4. Because the checked chip moves in hopping over from below along the stopper plate 14 owing to the action of the magnets 2 and 3, the chip can satisfactorily separated from the cutting oil 20 at the hopping-over. |
