The invention relates to a system for protecting outdoor public and sports arena against the rain and the effects thereof, comprising a resistant cable, preferably a steel cable, one end of which is detachably fixed in an anchoring located at a point outside from and higher than the surface to be protected while the other end of the cable is fixed to a winch located opposite to and at the same height as the anchoring in such a way that an impermeable thin-shell roof is mounted on the cable forming a ridge-roof surface once the cable has been stretched. One of the ends of the covering surface is linked to a roller or motor-driven cylinder while the other opposite end of the covering is detachably connected to another roller or opposite cylinder located at the same height as the other cylinder. Said system can occasionally be used to protect the stands and the supporting cable can be even discarded in small arenas. In this case, the functions of the winch and the anchoring are assumed by the roller or cylinders. It is not necessary for the rollers to face one another symmetrically. |
