PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject repellent having a fast-acting property and long-term durability and free from a malodor after use, usable as a soil conditioner for making soil in alkali side by making the repellent include a formulation composed of specific components. SOLUTION: This repellent comprises a formulation of (A) a camphor (preferably natural camphor), (B) gypsum, (C) glass fiber and (D) an inorganic oxide sol (preferably alumina sol). The ratio of the components is 5-40 wt.% of the component A, 50-90 wt.% of the component B, 0.02-2 wt.% of the component C and 2-5 wt.% of the component D in the total composition. The repellent may be in a solid shape such as pellet, granular or powdery state or in a kneaded state held in a tube, a plastic bag, a glass container, on the like. When the repellent is put in a rice chest, a dried red pepper is fed to the rice chest. When the repellent is formulated with ferric oxide, the repellent is useful as a soil conditioner after use. |
